Poinsettias

Hi there,

I had purchased this beautiful die from Simon Says Stamp but had not used it yet so I finally decided how I was going to use it and here's the card that I created with it. This I am entering in the current SSS Flickr challenge #6 using dies.

I first die cut a bunch of the poinsettias and then ran some gold cardstock cutting a bunch of leaves.
I layered 2 different sized die cuts to make the 3 poinsettias. I then decided to cut a panel using the curved edge die and the edges of both pieces were outlined with gold metallic ink. The top part of that panel was layered with foam dots and the bottom piece was mounted flat with the sentiment stamped on it in gold detail embossing powder. I added some gold splatters to be top piece using HA gold spray.
I mounted the poinsettias with foam dots, tucked in some gold leaves, turned up the edges of the flowers a bit and then added a metallic dot to each centre.
Thanks for stopping by to have a look and enjoy!

Snowflakes

Hi there,

Although I am still trying to catch up on cards from last weeks' Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop 2014 I've managed to fit in a card that I created today for the current challenge at http://casethissketch.blogspot.ca/2014/11/case-this-sketch-99.html

I first started with a stitched strip die from which I cut a panel from some patterned paper.
The snowflakes were then die cut from some plain and glitter cardstock.
I added a sentiment which I embossed in silver although it's a little hard to see in the photo.
Wink of Stella was added to the 2 non-glitter snowflakes and a small gemstone placed in the centre of each.
Popped up the panel and all the snowflakes.

Well that's it for Monday.

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day here in Canada so please take a moment of silence to remember those whom we have to thank for the wonderful country and life that we have today.

It's time to celebrate

Hello there,

Today I have a card that I created for the current challenge at http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2014/10/01/new-holiday-challenge-2/
I went with the category of White Out for my card:

I first created the snow background using an embossing folder.
Die cut a stitched frame to which I added a silver embossed snowflake and used a circle
punch to cut out. The sentiment was also embossed in silver.
I foam mounted all the pieces and added some twine to hang the snowflake from.
Added a crystal to the centre of my snowflake.

Well that's my card and thanks for stopping by.
