It's Christmas time again

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that I only recently have been purchasing Neat and Tangled stamps and dies and I must say that I absolutely love them. So fun!

Today's card is for the current challenge Neat and Tangled Sketch challenge here

I actually won the cute little stamp and die set called Get Yeti that I used for my card.

I started by creating the frame and the background for my card. I used 2 Lawn Fawn frames together to die cut the frame and the background from white cardstock at the same time.
For the inside frame I blended 2 different distress inks - Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar. Stamped the snow hills and snowflakes and heat embossed using white embossing powder. Sprinkled a few drops of water over the piece.

On the outside frame I used a distress Cracked Pistachio oxide ink and blended it over the entire frame piece.

Added the frame and the background piece to a  white cardbase.
The snowman and critters were coloured with Copics and clear Wink of Stella was added to the hat, scarf and the little birdie.
I added a touch of black enamel accent to the nose and eyes of the reindeer doggie.

Stamped the sentiment and popped up the little guys with foam tape and added a few clear sequins.

That's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Crayons

Hi everyone,
Today's card is for the current photo inspiration Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp here using Paper Smooches products.

I used the colours from their post and combined them with some Lawn Fawn products and a Paper Smooches sentiment die.

I stamped the crayons with black ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. I then coloured them using 3 different colour of Copic markers. The sentiment was a die cut that I taped to my panel and then used Distress Oxide ink to colour it in using a sponge dauber.

The background patterned panel was die cut using a small dotted rectangle die and the same for the white panel.

I added the crayons to my card using foam tape and drew a little squiggle line down towards the sentiment using the same Copic colours that I had applied to each crayon.

The patterned panel was applied using adhesive directly to a yellow card base. I popped the white panel up with some foam tape and added little black dots around my sentiment using black enamel accents.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn small dotted rectangle die set
Lawn Fawn Color my World stamp and die set

Celebrate you

Hi everyone,

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. We spent a fantastic, beautiful few days in North Conway, NH where the weather was absolutely beautiful and the leaves in certain areas were quite pretty and worth taking lots of pictures.

I'm back now and have a card to share for the current MFT Color challenge here

and also for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is 'Thinking of You' here

Here's my interpretation:

I started by using a SSS stencil to create the panel for my card. I used 2 different colours of Distress inks and blended the background. I then moved onto the 'celebrate' die cut and blended 2 different shades of blue for this. I die cut the word right into the dotted panel and inlaid the coloured blue word.

I used the Wonky Rectangles die to cut out a panel in yellow and then cut my coloured panel with a smaller die from the same set. To continue with the Wonky theme I thought it would be fun to layer the 2 panels in an off kilter design.

I cut a patterned panel piece to fit the size of my card and adhered that with tape and then also added the yellow panel the same way. My design panel was applied using foam tape.

Added some yellow sequins and it was done.

Well that's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil
MFT Die-Namics Celebrate die
MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die set
Distress Oxide inks - Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade
Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch
SSS Blue Jay mini ink cube

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge 82 - "Fall is in the Air"

Happy Friday everyone,

Well it's time again for a new SSS Flickr challenge here where you will find details on how to play. I do hope you can join in.

I was so exited when Barb asked me to guest design for this challenge where the theme is "Fall is in the Air". This was so perfect for me as this is my favourite time of the year. I created 3 cards for this and decided to work Fall colours into all of my cards.

For my first card I used the SSS Clustered Leaves die as my focal point.

I started by creating a watercolour pallette on my craft sheet using Distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin and Shabby Shutters. I spritzed some water over each colour and then took a piece of watercolour cardstock and pressed that down over the colours. Once I was happy with the blend I die cut the leaf die from it. Set that aside and went onto creating my background piece. I used a SSS Stitched Rectangle die to emboss the edges of my card and added some gold drops using a metallic shimmer spray. I popped up the leaf die cut piece with small pieces of foam tape adhered behind each leaf to give it some dimension then added some clear Wink of Stella to each leaf to give it a little touch sparkle.

I then die cut the hello sentiment from some black cardstock and added that to the centre of my card adhering it with some Tombow Mono glue.

Here's card #2.

For this card I used the SSS Full Card Triangles die and cut this from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.
I kept all the little pieces that fell out from the die and saved them for later.
I took a piece of white cardstock and carefully masked off strips of colour using a combination of Distress and Distress Oxide inks so that they would line up with the die cover piece once I added it to the front of my card.
From the top of my card this is the order of colours - Distress Spiced Marmalade, Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber, Distress Oxide Candied Apple, Distress Gathered Twigs, Distress Mustard Seed and finally Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade.
Once I was happy with the total blend of colours I added that piece to a Desert Storm card base.  I then gave the whole panel a little spritz of water to add a little effect. I then carefully laid the die cut piece over the panel making sure everything lined up. Some of the little leftover triangles that I saved earlier where added here and there on the card. Some I laid down flat and some I popped up with a little foam tape.
For my sentiment I used a stamp from the SSS Work Out stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink and embossed it with Gold Detail embossing powder. Added the strip to my card with foam tape. I added a little watercolour leaf using a Lawn Fawn die to which I added some gold Wink of Stella.
I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in Red Berry, Dandelion Yellow and Ripened Pumpkin for a little additonal accents.

Onto card #3.

For this card I used a SSS stencil called Swirls and Dots. I adhered the stencil to a piece of white cardstock and then started to blend in various Distress inks - Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon and finally Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet.
While the stencil was still in place I added some Translucent Embossing paste over the top of the whole piece. When dry it gives a nice shiny effect and still allows the colours underneath to show through.
I used a SSS A2 Card Curved Edge die to cut out the bottom piece of my background.
I took a piece of black cardstock cut to the the size I needed to add to my card and then embossed the sentiment from SSS Thanks stamp set with white embossing powder.
I added the coloured panel to the black piece with some foam tape and applied a Nuvo Crystal drop in Dandelion Yellow.

Well that's it for my cards and I hope you have fun creating your own for this challenge and I would like to thank Barb again for inviting me to join in today and thanks to all of you for viewing my cards.

baaah humbug

Hi everyone,

I have a card today that I am entering in the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge #14 'Happy Little Critters' found here

 Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Badge

Here's my card:

I used an embossing folder to emboss the base of my card. I die cut the tag from white cardstock and stamped the trees in different green colours and then used the tree die to mask off the trees and then blended in the sky colour. The tree mask didn't quite cover the trees entirely but I kind of like the little bit of white left behind.
I die cut the bottom portion of the tag with some patterned paper and then used a stitched border die to cut the top portion so it would line up just below the trees.
The sheep was coloured with Copics.
I added some white glitter to the tree bases to add a little sparkle.
I curved the sentiment on my stamping block so it would line up with the curve of the bottom of the tag and stamped it with black ink. I popped up the tag and the sheep with foam tape.
Added some Doodlebug twine to the top of the tag.

Well that's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.
