Sending hugs & happy thoughts

Hi everyone,

Today's card is for the current SSS Wednesday challenge here where the theme is 'Floral Frenzy'.

As they are showcasing Altenew Products I went with the Beautiful Day stamp set.

I started by stamping a large flower image 3 times with black ink and then filling in some of the spaces using smaller stamps from the set. I then heat embossed the panel with clear embossing powder.
I then moved on to applying Distress ink over the whole panel and adding some water splatters. I must admit I don't own any Pretty Pink Posh stamps or dies (shame on me) until I recently purchased the Stitched Borders 4 die set.
I used one of the dies to cut 2 strips of yellow slightly glittered cardstock to go on both sides of my panel.
Used a large SSS stitched rectangle die to cut out a white panel for my background.
I adhered the white panel to a layer of black cardstock and then added the yellow strips and popped up the panel strip with foam tape.

Finished the card by stamping the sentiment with black ink from the same Altenew stamp set and then added some Nuvo Crystal accent drops.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Easter pop up cards

Hi everyone,

I have had the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die set from Lawn Fawn probably since last summer but just decided lately to pull it out and make a couple of Easter card boxes for my Yoga/Pilates instructors' 2 grandchildren.

I must admit that I didn't break any speed records making these as it took me quite some time to do both. It was definitely worth the time though as I am over the moon happy with how both of them turned out.

Thought these would be perfect also to enter in the current Lawn Fawnatics 'Color Inspiration' challenge found here.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Badge

Here are my card boxes.

I started by diecutting and assembling the box first and then added patterned paper panels to the four top pieces of the box that show when the box is open and panels to three sides of the box when folded close.

I stamped and coloured all the images on Copic friendly paper and used the matching dies to cut them out.  Die cut the grassy borders and added them to the inside of each box.

I used thin strips of clear plastic to mount some of the images so that they wobble when you shake the box and directly adhered the other images to the box and grass.

Added some glossy accents to the eggs on the front panel and Wink of Stella to all the other eggs. Added Stickles glitter to each of the bows on the rabbits, some liquid applique to the bunny tails and ears and googly eyes to the bunnies.

And voila. As I was so pleased with the results that I can see myself making a few more of these in the near future. Stay tuned!

Well that's it for these boxes and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter flower

Hi everyone,

Happy Spring! Yeah!!!
It's finally here but we still have a lot of snow to get rid of but the days are longer, the sun is shining and life is good!

Today's card is for the current Simon Says Stamp challenge which can be found here where the theme is Easter Inspired.

I am still in love with foiling so I used a Paper Smooches flower die and 2 different foil colours to create the focal point to my card. I just love green and purple together.

I cut a window in my card with a stitched scallop die and then cut another piece with some patterned paper and applied it over top.  I used a Lawn Fawn stitched border for each side of the large background piece to my card. Stamped the sentiment on vellum with clear embossing ink and white heat embossed.
I used the stitched border die again to add a border to each side of the sentiment piece.

I then adhered all the little pieces of the flower back in place and adhered it to my card. I added some Nuvo Jewel drops in 2 colours and some Lawn Fawn twine and the card is done.

Well that's it for my card today and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs & Studio Katia stamp set

Hi everyone,

Well it's yet another snowy day here in Montreal. I'm sure will come someday soon.
I have a card to share for the current SSS flickrchallenge where the theme is 'Cut It Out' using dies.

Here's my card.

I started by stamping each stamp in the Studio Katia Floral Trimmings stamp set and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then moved onto blending 3 different colours of Distress Oxide inks.
When I was happy with my blending I used a rectangle stitched strip die from MFT to cut out each piece.

I foam mounted the 2 panels onto a black cardstock piece which was layered onto my white card base and added some water spritzs.

I die cut the Hugs sentiment die 3 times, once in black and twice in white and layered the 3 pieces together.

I adhered the die piece and added sequins in the same colours of my panel.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

SSS Big Hugs die
Studio Katia Floral Trimmings stamp set
MFT Dienamics Vertical Strips die set
Distress Oxide inks - Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet
Doodlebug sequins
SSS white embossing powder

You are Jawsome

Hi everygone,

Today I have a card to share using some Lawn Fawn products and SSS products.  I will also be entering this card in the SSS Wednesday "Anything Goes" challenge here and also the SSS flickr challenge to "Cut It Out" using die cuts.

Here's my card:

I started by creating my background using 2 different alcohol ink colours.

I then moved on to stamping and colouring all my little pieces. I added a blue panel to the base of my card and embossed it using a stitched rectangle die.

Layered the alcohol ink panel to my card base and added all the pieces for my scene. I die cut a scalloped panel in white to frame my whole card. Stamped my sentiments and foam mounted them to the front and added some sequins for a little sparkle.

Well that's it and thanks for stopping by.
