Thinking of you flowers

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using Studio Katia's Floral Trimmings stamp set. Also entering this in the A Blog Named Hero challenge to 'Put a Flower On It' where you can find the details here. Also for the current Simon Says Flickr challenge of  'Anything Goes'.

I started by stamping only one of the floral images from the set on to Tim Holtz watercolour paper and heat embossing using white embossing powder. I then moved on to adding various colours of Distress Inks to my craft sheet and applying them to my card using a watercolour brush.

I used a Curved edge die to cut another piece from white cardstock onto which I stamped my sentiment.

The edges of both the watercoloured piece and the curved piece were die cut using a stitched rectangle die to add a little interest.

I adhered the watercoloured piece directly to my card base but foam mounted the sentiment piece.

April Crystals from Studio Katia were adhered to my card using Tombow Mono adhesive.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

MFT Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges die set

Coffee is always a good idea

Hi everyone,

Well Spring has finally arrived here and the sun is shining. Yeah!

Today's card is for the current Newton's Nook Designs sketch challenge here and also for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes'

Here's my card.

I used the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set and stamped 3 of the images and coloured them with Copics.

I didn't have a trio window die so I used the Stitched Squares die set from Simon Says Stamp and positioned the die over a strip of patterned paper and carefully die cut 3 windows.

Before I adhered the strip to my card I applied some orange ink splatters to the panel. I added some twine to my strip, adhered the images behind each window and foam mounted the whole piece to my card base which was embossed with a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the sentiment in black and added a little heart accent.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone,

Well it is still gloomy and raining here. Where is Spring?

Today I have a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge here to 'Add Some Texture'.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Grit-Paste. This paste adds a lot of texture to a card. I just love it.

I cut down a panel a little smaller than my card base and used a wonky stitched rectangle die to emboss the edges. As the stencil is narrower than my card panel I used a little tape to mask off the sides of the panel so the design would be even.

I then applied a little colour from the ink pad to my craft sheet and blended that with the paste.
When I was happy with the colour I applied it to the stencil.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with white embossing powder. Die cut the sentiment out and added some foam tape.

For the edges of the card base I applied some ink and added some clear embossing powder and my heat tool and gave the edges a nice shiny look.

The whole panel was adhered with foam tape and the sentiment also.

I used enamel dots for my accent and that's it for this card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Tim Holtz Doily stencil
Tim Holtz Distress Grit-Paste
MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die set
WPlus9 Basic Banners stamps and die
Simon Says Stamp Sunkist ink cube
Versamark ink
Clear embossing powder

Little Birdie Birthday wishes

Hi everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed a nice weekend. Still waiting for Spring here but I did see a couple of robins so that is a good sign.

Today's card is for both the Simon Says Stamp 'Happy Birthday' Wednesday challenge here and also their Flickr group challenge #94 where the theme is 'Ink Blending'.

Here's my card.

I started by blending my background using 4 different colours of Distress Inks. I then die cut the Falling Circles Cover Plate die from Neat and Tangled. The die just cuts a clean edge so I decided to run it through my machine again using a large stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp to give it a stitched edge.

I added the blended panel directly to my card base and then added the cut panel being careful to add tape in and around all the little spots so that I could be sure the whole panel would adhere.

I stamped 3 little birdies, also from a Neat and Tangled set and then coloured them using Zigs.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink and die cut using the Basic Banners set from WPlus9.

Added some twine from Doodlebug to my card and that's it for this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Neat and Tangled Falling Circles Cover Plate die
Neat and Tangled Get Yeti stamp and die set
WPlus9 Basic Banners stamp and die set
Distress Ink - Twisted Citron, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple & Mustard Seed
Dooglebug twine

The red frame was die cut using a Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame die. I also used a Stitched Circle Scallop Frame die to cut the circle background for my pug on which I blended 2 of the ink colours.

I stamped my cute little pug with black ink and coloured him using Copic markers and fussy cut him out. I added a little red sparkle to the top his birthday hat and added some Nuvo crystal drops around the sentiment for accent.

The sentiment which is also Hero Arts was stamped with some HA black ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Cut out the sentiment and adhered to my card with some foam tape.
